Law is social infrastructure too.
Part of the firm's time is reserved for those who cannot pay for representation. That includes organisations without legal structure of their own, and it includes individuals, among them those facing criminal proceedings without the means to fund a defence.
Matters are accepted on the basis of impact and availability, and are handled to the same standard as paid work.
Organisations, public defenders and fellow lawyers can refer matters in writing.
